There’s a lot to talk about at the Chevy Chase Library!
1. Brand Studios, a section of the Department of Recreation, will be moving to Chevy Chase Library beginning on April 1st. They will be offering all sorts of art classes, including painting, four days a week (Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays).
This relocation is part of the renovation and remodeling of the Brand Library. The process will take 14-18 months, so this means that we area residents will have the opportunity to enjoy these classes right in our own backyard for at least a year. If the classes prove popular enough, Chevy Chase could become a permanent site for Department of Recreation classes. What does this mean? It means more exposure of the Chevy Chase Branch and increased circulation. The general public will not be allowed into the building during classes, but class participants may check out materials.
The classes will appear in the Spring Leisure Guide. Keep your eye on http://www.ci.glendale.ca.us/parks/default.asp for the updated schedule.
Remember that the library is still open to the general public Wednesdays, 2-8 p.m.; and Saturdays 12-5 p.m.
2. This Saturday, Jan. 21, is the Lego Club Launch at the Chevy Chase Library, 3-4:30 p.m. Come build with your friends!
3. Save the following dates:
Sat., February 4 @ 3:30, – Valentine’s Day Program — Listen to stories; and craft a chocolate rose bouquet for your sweetie, parents and kids are invited to do this craft together (see attached flyer)
Sat., March 31 @ 3:30 – Dr. Seuss’s Birthday Party

Classes will open up soon so keep your eye on http://www.ci.glendale.ca.us/parks/default.asp and look for the Spring Leisure Guide for updates.
