Directors Monthly Report

3431 Linda Vista  Now in jeopardy, a victory that was claimed by concerned neighbors and the CCEA when the City Council voted to deny a permit to build on the lot at 3431 Linda Vista, has been challenged by the property owner claiming the appeal the council voted on was invalid due to it being filed one day late.  The City Council is set to consider a pending threat of litigation made by counsel on behalf of the property owner.

Hillside Ordinance – The CCEA is seeking partners to conduct a survey of the newly passed Los Angeles hillside ordinance to determine its effectiveness to control oversized development.

CCEA Loses Director – John Martin has accepted a position of Scoutmaster for Glendale troop 125 and unfortunately will no longer be able to serve on the board.  John’s dedication and enthusiasm will be dearly missed.  His departure now leaves the CCEA with two open seats on the board of directors.

New Neighborhood Watch Coordinator – Rafik Soukasians is the new Neighborhood watch coordinator for Chevy Chase Canyon.  Email Rafik at neighborhood_watch@chevychaseestates.us.

Neighborhood Watch Signs – Locations and placement for the new neighborhood watch signs throughout the canyon’s watch protected areas have been approved and submitted to the city prior to installation.

Membership Benefits – Plans are under way to offer an assortment of benefits as a way of saying thanks to canyon residents who support the CCEA with their paid membership.

Fall Event and Party – Our annual CCEA members event is taking shape.  Roundup and Barbeque has been the theme in years past, but something new is on the horizon for this fall.
