GREAT NEWS!

In response to the outpouring of emails, petitions signatures, and letters, the Glendale City Council has decided to keep the Chevy Chase Library open, and to not transfer it to the Dept. of Community Services and Parks!!!

Come by this Saturday to celebrate and meet the famous author Mark Salzman.

MARK SALZMAN

An Atheist in Freefall: A Partly Comic Performance

SATURDAY, JUNE 11, 2:00pm

Chevy Chase Branch Library
3301 East Chevy Chase Drive, Glendale, CA 91206
(818) 548-2046

The Chevy Chase Library volunteers present a special talk and reception with Pulitzer Prize nominated author Mark Salzman (Iron and Silk, The Soloist, Lying Awake). Salzman became a stay-at-home parent in 2001. Eight years and three failed book manuscripts later, he had a nervous breakdown. Join him as he tells a sad story
with a happy ending and explores:

  • What kind of person gets panic attacks when he meditates?
  • Can an atheist have a mystical experience?
  • Is free will a necessary illusion?
  • Do dogs bark on purpose?

Flyer attached.
