Two new bills are being considered by the California State Legislature, SB 9 and SB 10, that would both seriously impact local zoning regulations and allow major new development in residential areas.

The CCEA board opposes both of these bills, as do countless other homeowner associations around the state, as well as local governments.
These bills threaten to destroy the beautiful environment here in Chevy Chase Canyon with large apartment buildings and countless homes. There are also no provisions for infrastructure improvements to support all the new development, and the fire danger would undoubtedly be increased.
We encourage you to reach out to Assembly member Laura Friedman and State Senator Anthony Portantino to let them know what you think.. This is urgent so please act as soon as possible.
